WILL YOU WALK SO THEY WON'T HAVE TO?

An opportunity for the whole family to give to others this holiday season!

And you don’t even have to leave your own neighborhood!

When: Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 10 am-1 pm

Where: 21524 Chickacoan Trail Drive

Who: EVERYONE! Any age…EVERYONE is welcome!

Why: because 2.1 million people die every year due to diseased water. 90% of those are children under the age of 5.

What: our “village” of Broadlands is going to build a well {access to clean water} for a village that doesn’t have clean water {it costs $5000 to build a well for a village}

We will meet at our house and walk to Bullfrog Pond with empty milk jugs. We will fill our empty milk jugs with “dirty” water from the pond and carry them back to our house to help us understand what so many people have to go through EVERY day for their water. On the way back to our house, we will divide into groups and knock door to door through the neighborhood asking for donations to help us provide a well to a village. When we arrive back at our house, we will eat a typical meal for someone that has to walk miles for their water.

So, what can you do???

                Participate:  email me {courtneycassada@gmail.com} letting me know you’ll be there {we want to have enough food for lunch!}  This is a GREAT opportunity to help influence our children to care for the less fortunate and for high schoolers to get service hours {we will make sure there is an adult/high schooler with all younger children}. We hope to have families, kids of all ages, teenagers, adults…EVERYONE! And bring an empty milk jug with you to fill up with water!

Donate: donate online {mycharitywater.org/broadlandswater } or write a check {or scrounge up some loose change…EVERY penny counts!} and set it aside for the people that knock on your door on the morning of December 4. If you aren’t going to be around, you can always put a check in my mailbox {made out to charity:water} ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE {if you write a check or give online}!  100% of the money you give goes to providing clean water!
